Ecolean Sustainability Report 2025 - Delivering more with less

We have released our Sustainability Report for 2025, a year marked by focused priorities, and tangible improvements across the value chain. For our customers, sustainability is not only about reporting. It is about reliable performance, efficient operations, and solutions that support both business growth and environmental targets. The 2025 results show how these priorities come together in practice.

Delivering measurable progress where it matters

The 2025 report highlights our steady improvement across areas that matter most both for our co-workers and our customers: operation efficiency, transport performance as well as health and safety.

Ecolean maintained sourcing 100% renewable electricity across all production sites for the seventh consecutive year, while reducing total energy use by 13% compared to 2024.We measured and reported our total greenhouse gas emissions across all three scopes:

• Scope 1: 213 t CO₂eq

• Scope 2: 450 t CO₂eq

• Scope 3: 42,578 t CO₂eq

Scope 1 and 2 was reduced by 83% compared to our base year 2018. As in most packaging value chains, most emissions sit in Scope 3. This strengthens the importance of collaboration with our suppliers, where packaging design, material choices and logistics directly influence customers’ own climate footprint.

Resource efficiency that supports performance

Our approach of doing more with less is reflected in how materials and waste are managed across operations.

In 2025:

• More than 94% of waste was recycled

• Zero waste to landfill was maintained at all sites

• 22–30% of material used in packaging film production came from internal recycling

This is not only about reducing environmental impact, but also about ensuring efficient, well-controlled production processes that support consistent product quality.

Building more efficient and predictable supply chains

Transport remains a key driver of emissions. During 2025, Ecolean continued to optimise logistics, shifting further towards lower-impact transport without compromising delivery performance.

The share of transport by sea and land increased to 93%, up from 89% the previous year. Measured by volume, 98.5% of all goods were transported by sea or land, significantly reducing reliance on air freight.

These results are built on practical improvements that create value for customers, such as better container utilisation through optimised load planning, flexible shipment models allowing mixed packaging formats and continued shift towards more stable and predictable transport flows.

The outcome is clear: lower emissions per unit, combined with improved efficiency and reliability in the supply chain.

A strong safety culture

Operational stability is closely linked to how safety is managed. In 2025, we continued to strengthen our safety culture, achieving improvements in key indicators while maintaining a high level of reporting and awareness.

• TRIF: 5.3 (Total Recordable Injury Frequency)

• 25% reduction in first aid injuries

A trusted partner in a changing landscape

Sustainability expectations on the food industry continue to increase, driven by regulation, customer demands and market dynamics. In this context, transparency and responsible business conduct are essential.

In 2025, we reported zero cases of corruption and human rights violations and full compliance with the Supplier Code of Conduct among selected suppliers.

We were, of course, very proud to achieve our fifth consecutive EcoVadis Platinum rating, placing us among the top 1% of companies globally. We see the EcoVadis rating as a trusted proof of compliance and credibility across our value chain. Giving our customers a valid benchmark when comparing partners.

From report to real-world value

The Sustainability Report 2025 provides a transparent overview of our performance - but more importantly, it reflects a way of working.

By combining efficiency improvements, responsible resource use, and close customer collaboration, we continue to develop solutions that deliver real, measurable value:

• Lower environmental impact per package

• More efficient logistics and operations

• Reliable supply and consistent product performance

As the report is released in mid-June, our message is clear, sustainability is not a separate track. It is an integrated part of how to create value, today and going forward.
